Questions & Comments
"Long Way Around," the debut CD by singer/songwriter Kathy N. Right and her creative partner, Henry Salvia, is certainly aptly named. Their careers have carried them down a road which they have left strewn with the wreckage of several rock, blues and country bands. They've been to every kind of destination imaginable -- from bowling alleys, biker bars and shopping center openings to Shoreline Amphitheater and the Monterey Jazz Festival.Inspired by John Prine, Merle Haggard, NRBQ and John Hiatt, Kathy and Henry have crafted an eclectic collection of tunes. Together with their band, The Flying Salvias, they'll take you on a chauffeured tour, perhaps weaving a little from one lane to the other, but always following the scenic route. Blend clever lyrics, inventive song structures, a forthright point of view . . . you got that N. Right!
Kathy also sings with the internationally acclaimed Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir and Ensemble. Henry plays piano with Johnny Nocturne and can be heard on their Rounder/Bullseye releases, "Wailin' Daddy" and "Shake'em Up!"
